Welcome! My name is Kaarina Nieminen and I want to thank you for checking out my web dev portfolio, I hope this shows you how capable I am to fulfill all your web development needs.
I am a recent graduate of Juno College's Immersive Bootcamp. Through this opportunity, I have been able to create a variety of responsive and accessible sites both as solo assignments and in collaboration with others. Having spent the last 11 years in telecommunication sales I am beyond excited to head straight into this exciting career change in the world of web development. I am passionate about providing fun, interactive and accessible websites and to find my place in a world where I can celebrate diversity and inclusion. I work best with a team and strive for conflict resolution no matter the circumstances.

With design elements provided by the client created an accessible and responsive website for a wellness retreat. Website includes multiple pages, a comment form, and accessible elements to ensure the site can be viewed by those with different abilities.
Critter Finder

In partnership with another developer created, designed and built the Critter Finder app for players of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Critter Finder allows the user to enter their location and current time and with the help of an API information is returned informing what critters are available to be found and caught.
Katsella
HTML | CSS | React | Firebase
Katsella is a social media based application to share movie and tv show recommendations amongst your friends. The name Katsella is a Finnish word for "watch", this combines both my Finnish heritage and Juno College's love for Godzilla. And this is why we see the cat-Godzilla hybrid mascot on the home page. Using Google's Firebase to store and update the users inputs in real time this app allows you to suggest shows to friends and leave comments and ratings for anyone who has access to your personalized list.
Timeless

Timeless was built with a development team of four creaters. The app is the ultimate meeting planner for any professional. It allows you to select meeting times for various attendees, including those in different timezones. When working with those in varying timezones the app also takes the time changes into account and ensures a time is selected that falls between 8am to 7pm in the attendees own area. Once a meeting is booked, all attendees can view, edit and book any other necessary meetings.
